One Point Five remains one of Napa Valley's little hidden gems. Bright, red-toned fruit and effusive aromatics beautifully done. DeMaio and his goofy puppet sidekick present and explain entertaining topics such as Tornado Facts for Kids, Black Holes Explained for Kids, and Carnivorous. Red cherry, dark wild berry, and wild strawberry complete the taste of the very ripe. We are pleased to offer a new vintage of our signature Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 One Point Five, a bold, expansive wine that celebrates the winery's roots in Napa Valley. Stags Leap soils-eroded volcanic and old river sediments-encourage well established root systems and result in complex, terroir-driven wines. Ripe and piquant, with lingering hints of cumin and cinnamon, its an elegant but approachable wine thats best to drink now through 2025. Our wine from South Tyrol is a masterpiece sourced from nature. While many varieties could thrive here, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot dominate with virtually no others, save for a spot or two of Syrah. In 2020, Shafer released a soothing six-hour YouTube video of sheep grazing on its hillsides in response to the global pandemic, which garnered thousands of views. In combination with the cool evening breezes from the San Pablo Bay just south, this becomes an optimal environment for grape growing. The Relentless Story Relentless is a blend of Syrah and Petite Sirah that originates in a rugged, sloping vineyard planted in the chaparral foothills of the Vaca Mountains, along Napa Valley’s drier, cooler southeast corridor. The vineyards in this one-of-a-kind wine growing region receive hot afternoon air reflecting off of its eastern palisade formation. Shafer's Syrah was named to honor winemaker Elias Fernandez and his relentless pursuit of quality. When a 1973 Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon won first place against its high-profile Bordeaux contenders, like Chateau Mouton Rothschild and Chateau Haut-Brion, international attention to the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley escalated rapidly. While its grape-growing history dates back to the mid-1800s, winemaking didn’t really take off until the mid-1970s after a small but pivotal blind tasting called the Judgement of Paris. Shafer Vineyards is best known for its Hillside Select Cabernet, but also makes other Cabernets, the Relentless Syrah-Petite Sirah, Chardonnay and the new TD-9 Merlot-Cabernet blend.

As a result, the area was given the name, Stags Leap. Legend has it that quick and nimble stags would escape the indigenous hunters of southern Napa Valley through the landmark palisades that sit just northeast of the current city of Napa.
